Journal of Ethnic and Migration Studies (JEMS)
ISSN 1369-183X print / 1469-9451 online
Editor of JEMS
After 12 years and 50 issues the present editorial
team is retiring with this issue; if not exactly hurt then certainly chastened by an
experience that has seen the journal change beyond recognition from 1988. The original
journal, New Community, was owned and operated by the Commission for Racial
Equality in the UK. and earlier organisations from its inception in October 1971 until
July 1994. Another turning point was the change of name from Volume 24 in January
1998.
The new editor from Volume 27 (2001) will
be Professor Russell King of the Centre for Migration Studies at the University of Sussex. He
will be joined by Jenny Money as Editorial Manager. This is a highly experienced team and
in welcoming them we look forward to further developments and improvements in the
journal's content and coverage.
CEMES will continue to have a promotional role in
the development of the journal but all editorial matters should now be directed to the
JEMS editorial office at the University of Sussex.
